Does not adequately represent test material.

I just took the Cisco test for this material and did not pass. 30-50% of the test questions were not covered in this book, nor in CBT Nuggets. It only cost me $250 to find out what the questions were like. Where the test and the training materials went in different directions was about Cisco equipment capabilities, command line differences between NX-OS and IOS and some ambiguous subnetting questions. I might have had the bad luck of the draw on questions, as is possible in Cisco exams.
I thought the book was well-written and had a great approach to the material. It was presented in less detail than the CC-ENT material, so one would assume that a Data Center manager would not need that detail. I liked that the routing sections discussed the tools that would be helpful in troubleshooting. As a network admin, knowing what tools are available and how they help is often as important as knowing the configurations.
I realize that covering all Cisco OS commands as part of this material would be overwhelming, but perhaps setting the expectations to be consistent with the test content.
There were inconsistencies in the 'How much of this do I already know' sections. For example, questions that said to select two answers and then told you that none of the answers were correct. Others that gave you answers and then said other answers could also have been correct.
Bottom line is that this book is helpful for the material that it covers, but will not provide you with all the information you need to pass the test. It will not tell you what additional material you should focus on, beyond its content, to successfully pass the test. It is a good starting point.

The book fell short when it came to the exam 640-911. One more chapter talking about the Nexus models and what each one supports whould have been great. If you use the guide them be sure to at least read Chapter 2 in the 640-916 CCNA Data Center DCICT guide for the hardware models and functions.

Outside of the above it is a very good guide.

Typical Cert Book but Some Good Points

First my background. I already passed my CCNA Route/Switch so this exam was more of a review of sorts. As far as this book goes there were a few things I liked about it. The information is good and I liked the Key Topics section... that helped for skimming sections for review. The Do I Know This Already section is a good thought but you still want to read up anyway as someone else mentioned the DIKTA questions are kind of worthless and are sometimes incorrect. Of course with all cert books the reading is dry and I also didn't like how they explained subnetting... made it way too complex for what it was. If I had it to do all over again I would probably go with Todd Lammle's Datacenter book which I used for the Route/Switch exam and flew through the R/S exam.

As with all certifications do NOT rely on this book solely for the exam. Without going into detail the exam covers only about 60-70% of the actual exam (which I passed). I doubled this book with CBT Nuggets training and I did ok.

Fierce feminist allegory

This is another powerful re-animation of myth by Madeline Miller. As in her story of Achilles, the mythic elements are not explained- this is the universe of the story and as readers we readily accept it. Galatea is a statue brought to life - okay - but why is she being held in a locked room of a hospital? That is the question that provides the story with its narrative drive.

The story floods with allegorical meaning when we realise that the husband, the sculptor, who created her and brought her to life is now imprisoning her because she wants a little too much life for his liking. Her failures of gratitude, and therefore of perfection, must be punished. It turns out that all the creepiness of the story resides not in the stone turning to flesh, but in the creator's need for pleasure and absolute control. Brilliant and horrifying.

"How I could both live and still be a statue..."

In Greek myth, Galatea is a stone statue brought to life by the Goddess to answer the entreaty of the sculpture, now her husband. She is perfect, but has been given a soul. In this sharp, literate fantasy, a man who has worshiped stone is set to cope with a real woman. One could predict that such a man would be easily affronted and constantly in need of control. This is the story of that reality. The author has managed to avoid the usual cliche, and this makes this short richly enjoyable.

Dissappointing

I have to say I did not like the book. I read this authors "Achilles' song" which I loved and that is why I bought this one. It is a short story that left me annoyed and not too happy. I was very disappointed.

Good deck, but flimsy cards

This is a really nice tarot deck, and the pictures are very beautiful. However, the cards that they're printed on will not hold up to regular use, even if you're really careful. They're quick to bend and are more slippery than any other deck that I've used.

That being said, I'm on the fence about whether they were worth the 16 dollars that I paid for them.

My first Tarot deck

This is a replacement for my first Tarot deck. I have purchased three of these now bc I gave one set to my mother who loved them so much and I accidentally spilled shampoo on a second set while traveling. I keep going back to this deck although I have several other decks. I like to keep a copy of this deck on hand as well. The cards are beautiful and decent card stock, they shuffle smoothly and read well. They are easy to translate into RWS translations and are great for beginners.

Wonderful deck!

I get together with a group once a month, and I read tarot for them. This is the fourth time I have replaced this deck as it becomes a little worn over a long time. I will let the fact that I keep purchasing the same deck speak for itself.
