Amazing success

The Silva Method is amazing. These tapes are one of several I own. I took the class about ten years ago and I have not been the same since. Admittedly, I don't always use it as I should, but when I need it, the techniques are always there. Better yet, the understanding that I have the power to get information I need beyond my normal senses is very strong and reassuring. I used the Silva method to get a large raise, build my own business, and access information through dreams. You have to try it to believe it! I would recommend the tapes to help you get acquainted with the material, then go and take the class because it is accelerated and the energy of others really helps. It's absolutely terrific.

Yuji Ijiri developed the so-called framework of triple-entry and momentum accounting, or TEMA in short, that is composed of three informational accounting dimensions: wealth, momentum and force. This book offers evidence in support of the TEMA framework to validate its relevance, explanatory and predictive power. Annual and quarterly financial statements data was used to investigate the AEX and Dow Jones component companies. Spectramap decomposition of TEMA variables of a single firm as well as the complete panel of Dow component companies provided further evidence that the TEMA framework discloses new and relevant accounting information. TEMA variables of the Dow component companies decomposed to Spectral Map factors also showed explanatory and predictive power for the Dow Jones.

Same Text as His French Feasts Under Different Publisher

You should note that this book, Ripailles by Stephane Reynaud, published by Murdoch, is the same book internally as French Feasts: 299 Traditional Recipes for Family Meals and Gatherings put out by Stewart Tabori & Chang a year later.

I'm not sure if Ripailles is the UK version of the book, so it may have UK measures. Keep that in mind and choose which title you need accordingly.

Gorgeous photos, but probably won't make any of the recipes!

I love Stephane Renaud, and I love his first book, Pork & Sons.
Just buy the book for the gorgeous photos and stories......the recipes are a bit difficult, only because the ingredients are nearly impossible (especially the French pork products) to find in the U.S., even in NYC.

It's a nice coffee table book, heavy and pretty to look at.
Makes me want to go to France again and again.

Something for everyone

Wonderful book for anyone who cooks. Many easy recipes as well as a few that are more difficult. You will not want to make them all, different strokes, but it is definitely not just for the coffee table if you are one to venture into the kitchen at all. I have made several recipes and they come out well. The drawings, stories and pictures are an added treat. You will love this book as a staple reference for French cooking. Enjoy.

This book is an uncritical guide both for clinicians and researchers working within the personality assessment domain, and for graduates wishing to learn more about this widely used test. About the Author

John R. Graham is Professor of Clinical Psychology at Kent State University. He began his work with the MMPI during his graduate training at the University of North Carolina in the 1960s. He is the author of several books about the MMPI and its applications as well as numerous empirical articles. He played a major role in the development of the MMPI-2 and MMPI-A and has taught workshops on the test throughout the world.

An updated edition to a classic guide and text to the MMPI

This is a superbly useful, updated version of his prior work on MMPI-2 interpretation. As always, Dr. Graham hits the bullseye for clinical usefulness and readability. His interpretive strategy is thorough and pragmatic. While others base their interpretative statements on clinical lore and antedotes, Dr. Graham backs up his interpretations with research. This text is a "must-have" for anyone who administers the MMPI-2--students and clinicians alike.

Excellent resource for MMPI-2'ers.

I have used this text for my graduate class I teach on the MMPI-2. It is an excellent text. Very comprehensive. My graduate students found it very helpful in learning to appreciate the strengths and weaknesses of the MMPI-2. Awareness of any tests strengths/limitations is crucial to the appropriate use of all psychological tests. Learning to appropriately utilize this test as part of a psychological screening or battery is critical for the training of all clinical psychologists. Graham does an excellent job of presenting the information in a readable and understandable format.

Great Intro for Non-Psychologists

I am not a psychologist, and was not formally trained in the use of the MMPI-2, but my work brings me in contact with it very frequently. This book served as a perfect introduction to my self-study, and I refer to it frequently in trying to more fully understand the MMPI-2 interpretations provided by psychologists. I have searched for a comparable introductory text, and cannot find one nearly as good.

A Marvelous Book

I'm writing this minutes after a sublime experience, drinking Evan Goldstein's recommended fruit-forward Pinot Noir with Joyce Goldstein's incredibly good recipe for Pork Loin Glazed with Pomegranate and Orange. I actually Googled Evan's name because I wanted to send him some fan e-mail -- alas, couldn't find an address. So the least I can do is give the book an excellent review. I learned more about pairing wine and food in the book's first chapter than I have after years of subscribing to wine publications. Two thumbs up!

Great on content, poor on photos

If you don't care that much about photos with recipes, this book is excellent on text. There is a photo section in the middle but personally I like to see at least half of the cookbook with accompanying photos. I gave this as a first anniversary gift to my son and daughter-in-law because they enjoy both wines and foods. She liked it a lot for the information about how to combine dishes and also the sections on history of the wines/regions. It is weak on information about American wines and in some cases it might be difficult to find some of the foreign wines mentioned. I would probably use it more as a reference book than a standard cookbook.

Solid good advice, good for main or back up book!

I wish that I could have the knowledge of this book by osmosis. To read Evan's insightful comments about a wine, then to read suggestions on food pairings with that wine, is a delight. Additionally, Joyce's ample recipes, some simple, some complex, are well chosen, and a strong plus for adventuresome cooks to buy this book.

This was my favorite pairing book (and there's several books out there!) till recently.

When I saw a copy of "What to Drink with What You Eat: The Definitive Guide to Pairing Food with Wine...by Andrew Dornenburg, I realized that Dorenberg had "one-upped" this good text in different ways. One can find the food type, or the dominant spicing or saucing, then work backwards to the wines that are better suited. This is a more intuitive way for most people not well versed in different wines, and is better for me, as I need to match a wine to a fish's sauce more than to the fish. Still it does not diminish my appreciation for Perfect Pairing one bit. Evan Goldstein's Perfect Pairings does acknowledge this importance as well on pages 22-23 and 26-7, however many readers may gloss over this. The book is not as well geared as Dorenberg's in my opinion, for things such as spicy or some Asian or other ethnic foods, your mileage may vary.

Additionally, Dorenberg's book expands one's options with a food to go beyond wine for pairings, to include spirits, beer, etc. This makes more sense, as I just love a good beer with some things (some Asian food, German foods, etc.) that just don't work as well with recommended wines. The drawback (or plus, to some) to Dorenburg's book is that it isn't a text as Goldstein's. Dorenburg's book, after a few brief text chapters, is an extensive alphabetical listing of numerous foods and beverages, followed by their matches, with no explanation present, or felt needed.

I like Goldstein's Perfect Pairings dessert/dessert wine chapter, for example, having a sweet tooth. This section gives a good overview of different wines (late harvest, fortified, sparkling), and then separately talks about tree/stone fruit desserts, creamy and custard desserts, nut and dried-frut desserts, and finally the chocolatee, coffee, and caramel desserts..and recommends appropriate wines for each dessert classification.

Glance through both wine pairing books, and see which book style suits your needs best. I enjoy aspects of both, for different reasons, and appreciate each for it's strengths.
